Genie Garage Door Remote

How To Work Your Way In A Genie Garage Door Remote

If you're using a garage door, then most probably you have a remote control. Otherwise, doing it manually can be very exhausting on your end.

It's the same way with a Genie garage door. If you have been implementing Genie's technology on your door, then you may also want to know how to work your way in Genie garage door remote.

Here are the ways on how to do that:

1. Make sure there's no obstruction. When you're trying to program your remote control, there must be no car, person, or even animal inside and outside the garage, except you, of course. After all, you are going to make some tests after you've programmed the control. You don't want to have someone injured or something damaged.

2. Search for the button called Learn Code. It's normally attached into the garage door operator. This means that you're going to need a ladder to reach through it, unless you're tall enough and your ceiling or door has low vertical clearance.

It may come in different names, but you can instantly see it since the word "Learn" is found underneath or beside the small button. It is also situated very close to a red LED light.

3. Activate the program mode. Once you've already pressed the Learn Indicator or Code button, you are then ready to program the remote control. This means that you can now enter the PIN of your choice.

You would know that you have successfully pressed the Learn Code button by looking at the red light. It must blink and continue to do so at very short intervals. You must also be conscious of the blinking since it also indicates how much time you have to program the remote control.

4. Enter your PIN. While the light is blinking, enter the PIN, which can be between 3 and 8 characters. Then, you hit the PROG button. It's the one with a black background. Once you press it, the red light would blink much faster until it turns off. This means that you are done with programming your remote control.

5. Test it. You will then have to test the remote to see to it that it definitely works. You simply have to press your PIN and decide which way the garage door should move. Is it going to be up or down?

Some Things to Remember

There will be times when programming would not work the first time. Don't be discouraged or call the technical support immediately. The problem could just be its batteries, which you have to change. You may also have missed certain steps during programming, and you have to redo everything.

Match the model with the remote control. Not all remote controls that have Intellicode technology will work all types of Genie models. Make sure that they do complement each other. If you want more ideas, call their customer care.

Lastly, don't give the remote control or even the PIN to just anyone, even to your children. Limit it to just one or two more persons in the family to safeguard the codes.
